Welcome! We hope you'll make Crossroads Campus Ministry part of your life while you're at the University of Washington. We think a life of faith can be fun and dynamic, and want you to enjoy yourself while you're here.
What to Expect when you come to Crossroads...
Where are you?... 4525 19th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98105. Our house is called "Covenant House". It's just north of campus, across 45th and partway down 19th. map here. There is parking available in the alley behind Covenant House.
When do you meet?... Worship and dinner for students is every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
Do you only meet on Wednesdays?... Nope, lots is always going on here! Plus, the house is open during the week for you. It's a great place to study (wireless internet) alone or with a group, hang out (ping pong and foosball tables), have some coffee/tea and snacks, talk to the pastors, pray, think about your future, ask questions..... Stop in and say hi!
Are friends welcome?... Always!
Free food?... That's right, free food! And always homecooked! (and really good! you get enough pizza, pasta, and top ramen already, don't you?)
Do I have to be Lutheran or Episcopalian? ... Nope. Students from all faith backgrounds, and no faith background, are welcome here. Our traditions shape who WE are (Scott is a Lutheran Pastor, and Mary is an Episcopal Deacon), and we'll be glad to learn who YOU are. Never been to church before? This is a great place to start!
Who comes?... All students are welcome! We are an open, affirming, and welcoming campus ministry. We welcome students of all backgrounds, of all ethnicities, of all colors, of all sexualities - we invite everyone to be a part of challenging our faith and drawing closer to God. (This is primarily a community of young adults, aged about 18-25).
Do I have to dress up?... Nope. Come as you are. Be who you are. Our worship service is especially for students and tends to be very casual. Jeans, shorts, t-shirts, whatever works for you is fine for us. Please come and be comfortable.
Thinking about coming, but a bit hesitant?... Sometimes it seems like a big step. Relax, we understand. We welcome new students every week. Our promise to you is that we will genuinely welcome you and help you feel at home here. Bring a friend. Stay for just a bit, or hang out all evening. Give it a try!
