The Rev. Scott Postlewait - Lutheran (ELCA) Campus PastorWelcome to the UW and to Campus Ministry! I've been the Lutheran (ELCA) Campus Pastor at the UW since March, 1997. It's a great place for the Church to be present, and for young adults to spend some time exploring what they believe and how faith fits into their lives. We're used to welcoming students who've grown up in the faith and students who have never been in Church before! Questions are welcome here -- from the basic to the complicated, it's all fair game! I'm available for pastoral counseling and for informal conversation. Some of my joys include spending time with my family, cycling, surfing, sailing, and skiing.
The Rev. Mary Shehane - Episcopal ChaplainGreetings and welcome from your campus pastor here at the UW! I have been a deacon in the Episcopal Church since 1995. Before serving as campus chaplain I worked with street ministries and founded the Sanctuary Art Center in the U-District (an art center for homeless youths). I have been a campus chaplain for over seven years. It is a great joy to serve students, and I am honored to know every student I have met. I hope you will come and join us here at Crossroads Campus Ministry for friendship, worship, service opportunities, alternative spring break trips, and just plain fun.
Mr. Zhenchuan Liu - Minister of Outreach for International Students & Scholars (ELCA) Zhenchuan joined the staff at Lutheran Campus Ministry in Winter of 2009 as our Minister of Outreach for International Students and Scholars. He brings a wealth of experience and insight to this position, and a genuine sense of hospitality. Zhenchuan hosts the Tuesday afternoon English as a Second Language Classes, and the Thursday evening Talk Time - peers talking with peers to help with conversational English. Lots of plans are underway for field trips to the many sights around Seattle, as well as Bible Study and support groups for International students and scholars at the UW.
Gianluca Lou - Peer Minister (Episcopal)Greetings! My name is Gianluca, and I am a third year comparative religion/french student here at the University of Washington. I'm an Anglican, and I love serving God and my fellow brothers and sisters. As a comparative religion major, I enthusiastically talk theology and study various religious systems--I never avoid the hard questions! If you are curious about my meanderings, I blog as the Honest Anglican. My other hobbies include languages, music, art, fashion (it's the italian in me!) and politics. Crossroads has truly been a blessing; as an inclusive community, you never have to check yourself before entering. We embrace you in totality. I hope you will find what you are looking for here!
Briana Watts - Peer Minister (Lutheran)Hello! My name is Briana Watts and I am working on Political Science and English majors here at the UW. Some of my favorite activities include youth advocacy, water sports, reading, and spending time outdoors whenever I can. I was brought up in a Lutheran church and have loved continuing my faith journey with Crossroads Campus Ministry. For me, Crossroads provides a laid-back, welcoming community to deepen my faith, build relationships, relieve the pressures that come with being a college student, and engage in the greater Seattle community. Crossroads has truly helped make UW a second home for me. I look forward to seeing it serve many others in similar ways through the coming years.
Clarke Reid - Peer Minister (Episcopal)Hey! I'm a senior at the University of Washington majoring in International Studies with a Global Health focus. Last summer, I studied Spanish while visiting Buenos Aires with a UW study abroad program. I play piano and a few other instruments and am interested in all aspects of music. Recently I've been writing music and playing around town with my band, Dyno Jamz, a hip-hop group with a full brass section.
Bryndis Ingimarsdottir - Peer Minister (Lutheran)Hello! I'm Bryndis and I'm a sophomore this year here at the UW, planning on majoring in International Studies and minoring in Spanish. I enjoy hiking, running, and have recently joined an ultimate frisbee team here in Seattle. I love being at school here but it wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable if I didn't have a wonderful place like Crossroads to go to every week. I hope that you can drop by and become a part of this great community!
